The extension of the Hannibal Badham Family which is known for  and regarded as being among Edenton’s leading builders in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Our best-known landmark, built by Hannibal Badham, Sr., is the imposing, towered Kadesh A. M. E. Zion Church (1897), a frame building in Gothic Revival style. The Badhams also built residences, the most striking is the ornate Hannibal Badham, Jr. House (ca. 1900), at 116 East Gale Street. This home is noted in the “Architects & Builders” at the NC State University  Library as “the most elaborate of the houses built in Edenton by Hannibal Badham, Sr.”
